Melissa Cotton Anglaise

£5.50

A super elegant cloth with a beautiful broderie anglaise pattern... but without the holes. The design is a pretty mix of flower circles and diamonds spreading all across the fabric, but unlike a lot of broderie anglaise, there are no eyelet cut-outs. It's the ideal cloth when you want to make a white garment which still has a bit of interest.

Picture 7 shows the cloth held up to the light where you can see the design the clearest.

This fabric is a soft cotton, it has a little bit of structure to it, but quite a bit of drape. It would be ideal for dressmaking - garments like shirts, tops, skirts and dresses would work well. Due to the nature of the broderie, you may wish to line your garment.

  • Width: 130-140cm
  • Drape: Semi-fluid
  • Opacity: Semi-Opaque
  • Composition: 100% Cotton
  • Care Instructions: Wash at 30c. Cool iron. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry.

Just to make you aware, the supplier has given me a bolt with some discolouration along the selvedge. It has clearly happened at the manufacturing stage. I've checked the cloth and this only affects one selvedge and none of the embroidered fabric, so it is still perfectly useable. (It might wash off - I have not tried it.) See Picture 8 as an example of the worst affected area. As a sustainable shop, I would rather sell the fabric and make you aware, rather than send it back to the supplier and the fabric go to waste.

We sell our fabric by the half metre – PRICES SHOWN ARE PER HALF METRE.  If you would like a metre then add ‘2’ in the quantity box. For example:

  • 0.5m    = 1
  • 1m       = 2
  • 1.5m    = 3
  • 2m       = 4
  • 2.5m    = 5
  • 3m       = 6

And so on… All orders will be cut in continuous lengths, unless you ask otherwise.
