Slapdash Cotton Poplin by Bornella Fabrics x Ethel and Joan
EXCLUSIVE: Slapdash Cotton Poplin by Bornella Fabrics x Ethel and Joan.
We've teamed up with Ethel and Joan for our second fabric collaboration. Introducing Slapdash... but this time on a cotton poplin! It's still a fabulously artistic burst of colour but this time on a woven fabric.
The off-white background is a perfect foil for those paintbrush strokes - rich blues from navy, royal blue through to aqua and a splash of lime all come together to create a truly joyful cloth that puts a huge smile on my face.
This is a dressmaking cotton poplin - it's very smooth against the skin and has a bit of structure but isn't too stiff. It would hold a puff sleeve but still have a little bit of softness and drape. This would be perfect for shirts, blouses, dresses, jumpsuits and much more. It would also be suitable for craft projects and quilts.
Slapdash was designed by Louise from Ethel and Joan - her background is in Fine Arts and she likes to experiment with sponge painting techniques in her art works. She now produces hand-cast resin haberdashery, jewellery and more from her studio in South East London.
