Bornella Fabrics (Tanya) and Stash Hub (Yvette) are hosting a sewing swap, and we'd love for you to join us! Swap your unwanted sewing supplies for inspiration.
Saturday 27th September - 11am-4pm. Education Space, Unit 2, Thames-Side Studios, Woolwich SE18 5NR, London.
How will it work?
- Get your Fabric Swap London ticket on Eventbrite here.
- Label your fabric with length, width and composition
- Bring your fabric, patterns, notions and tools on Saturday 27th September
- Take anything that inspires you.
It's that easy!
Do I need a ticket?
Yes. There are two timeslots - 11am-2pm and 1-4pm. You can book your tickets here at Eventbrite. Tickets are £4 which covers the costs of hosting the swap. Tickets can be purchased at https://stash-hub-x-bornella-sewing-swap.eventbrite.co.uk
Where is the swap?
The swap will be in the Education Centre in Unit 2 of Thames-Side Studios, Woolwich, with sweeping views of the Thames. Thames-Side Studios is the largest artists studios complex in London, with over 550 studios supporting London’s creativity.
Please note the Education Space is not wheelchair accessible as it is on the 1st Floor.
What should I bring to swap?
You can bring the following:
- Quilting pre-cuts and fabric remnants,
- 1+m lengths of fabric,
- Sewing patterns
- Notions/haberdashery
- Sewing tools
Do I need to bring something in order to take something?
No! We want this to be a very welcoming event and completely understand that not everyone has items to swap and budgets are tight. You are welcome to take from the tables only, whatever you can make use of.
What will happen to items leftover at the end of the event?
We have multiple ways to deal with anything left over. Useable fabric will be donated to charities, schools and sewing groups that we have connections with. Scraps that cannot be used will be recycled through textile recycling. Please get in touch with Yvette yvette@stashhubapp.com or Tanya tanya@bornellafabrics.co.uk if you run a project that requires sewing supplies.
Are there places to meet nearby?
We hope to see you there!
We're looking forward to seeing you there!
Happy sewing from Tanya and Yvette xx
About Stash Hub:
Stash Hub is a sewing organiser app for iOS, Android and Web that helps sewists catalogue their supplies and plan inspiring projects. It was created by husband-and-wife team Doug and Yvette. Yvette says: "Our mission at Stash Hub is to help you fall in love with your stash. It's really hard to feel inspired by your stash when it feels stagnant, so I was keen to host a swap to help you refresh your fabric and pattern collection. The process of choosing what to bring to the swap allows you to be really honest about what you'll actually use. Rehome what you won't use in a sustainable way, whilst discovering gems others have brought and allowing more inspiration into your sewing space."
