I'm thrilled to announce that Bornella Fabrics are launching our 4th fabric collection. Perfect for dressmaking, the fabrics are printed on a cotton poplin base, it's OEKO-TEX certified and the colours are wonderfully vibrant.

The handle is somewhere between a poplin and a lawn - it'll keep a bit of structure, such as a puff sleeve or a pleat, but it's also got a lovely soft drape. The best of both worlds!

Our new collection consists of 3 different designs:

Sybil - This incredible fabric was designed by Sholto Drumlanrig, who I am a huge fan of. His designs have a modern retro feel and they are RIGHT up my street. The large scale design of Sybil is a wonderful statement - go bold with pink and orange! Sholto has designed for Liberty's, Dashwood, Boden, Next and Barbour to name a few.

Sprung - This GLORIOUS fabric started life as a vintage scarf from the 1950s, although it's impossible to date exactly. I was so struck with it, that it stuck in my head for months. Lisa from the design studio Cocobloom converted the scarf into a print for cotton poplin. For me, in encapsulates the mood, colour and optimism of spring... hence spring has sprung.

Slapdash - Bornella Fabrics x Ethel and Joan. Following the success of our first collaboration, I've teamed up with Louise from Ethel and Joan again to update Slapdash for a new season. Think deep blues and acid greens and you're getting there. The scale is a little larger than the original sweatshirting design, and it's a dream to sew. I've made a Zadie jumpsuit and have plans for a gorgeous shirt too.

The new fabrics will launch at The Stitch Festival in London on March 19th and also on the website.

I can't wait for you to see them in person!

Happy sewing,
